VLN Endurance British Racing Driver

Hi, I'm Tom Wood

Hi, I'm
Tom Wood

I am a VLN Endurance Racing Driver, competing with Purple Dot Walkenhorst Motorsport in a factory supported BMW 240i for the 2020 season.

Tom Wood is a 20-year old, Silver Grade British Racing Driver from Castle Donington. An accomplished Kart Racer, with numerous British Championships to his name,

2019 saw Tom racing in the European GT4 Championship, alongside teammate Fiona James in a Pro-Am pairing for the Academy Motorsport ran Aston Martin Vantage GT4.

Tom made his debut in European GT Racing this season, after a strong maiden season in British GT and two successful seasons in the Ginetta Junior Championship - where he was a race winner and consistent podium sitter.

2020 will see Tom make the exciting step into racing with Factory prepared team equipment - joining the VLN and PurpleDot Walkenhorst Motorsport. Where he will take the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife throughout the championship campaign.

Tom will be one of the youngest drivers to ever compete in the championship, after a pair of seasons racing in GT4 where he regularly showed excellent potential.

Tom takes P5 in Round 4 of the Nürburgring Endurance Series
A last minute call for Tom meant that he was to be in a two driver pairing for the 4th round of the Nürburgring endurance series. He was to partner LMP2 driver Job Van Uitert, with Tom doing a single stint and Job, for licence reasons, doing a double stint.
