Tom is delighted to announce he will be stepping up to compete in the 2018 British GT Championship with Academy Motorsport.

Tom will be driving the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, in the GT4 class with Academy Motorsport.

Academy Motorsport is a well-established team based in Pershore, Worcestershire. From 2015, Academy have been running a factory supported Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 with great success in the UK and Europe.

British GT is one of the world’s biggest domestic GT championships with a multi-class racing format with both GT3 and GT4 cars.

Tom Wood “‘I am absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to compete in the British GT Championship in the factory backed Aston Martin. I will be with Academy Motorsport who are running two cars in British GT4 this year.

My team mate will be 19-year-old Danish driver Jan Jonck who has a lot of experience in single seater and GT racing. He also claimed a win last year at Brands Hatch in British GT, so to have him as my teammate makes for a very exciting partnership.”

Tom Wood Racing would like to give thanks to partners Scannervision, Donington Park, SCD, Castle Printwear, Sabrina Productions and everyone else who has contributed to make this possible.

The season starts with the first round at Oulton Park on March 31st-April 2nd, with two action packed 1 hour races over the course of the Easter Weekend.
